Penn College Suffers Setback to St. Elizabeth

Box Score MORRISTOWN, N.J. -- Penn College dropped a 63-51 decision to College of Saint Elizabeth in a North Eastern Athletic Conference women's basketball game Wednesday. The Wildcats fell to 0-1 NEAC, 0-5 overall, while the Eagles improved to 1-0, 2-2.

Kaylah Brown led Penn College with 11 points, on 3 of 8 from the field and 4 of 8 from the line. Gwendolyn Lavelle added nine points, and Tori Wolfe pulled down 10 rebounds.

Maria DeVincenzo led all scorers with 16 points for CSE, while Deja Ingram scored 16, and Kamille Jacobs finished with 14.

The first quarter saw the lead three times and four deadlocks. Penn College took its largest lead, 15-11, after Maci Ilgen's layup with 2:55 left in the period. CSE answered with an 11-5 run to lead 22-20 at the end of the first. The Eagles used a 14-9 second quarter to lead 36-29 at halftime.

CSE outscored Penn College 19-8 in the third, while the Wildcats outpaced the Eagles 14-8 in the fourth.

The Wildcats return to action Saturday, 12 p.m., at Penn State Abington.
