READING, Pa. – Penn College dropped a 61-34 decision to Alvernia University in a non-conference women's basketball game Saturday. The Wildcats fell to 0-1, while the Wolves improved to 3-0.
How it Happened: Alvernia held a 28-9 advantage at halftime and outscored Penn College 33-25 in the second half.
Inside the Box:
Lydia Albert led Penn College with nine points, and
Keyona Shoff added eight.
Maci Ilgen and
Ja'Quela Dyer both grabbed nine rebounds to pace Penn College.
Torie Zerbe and Cathryn Kramer led AU with 12 and 10 points, respectively.
Outside the Box: "We made a lot of early mistakes that Alvernia was able to capitalize on," Penn College coach
Britni Mohney explained. "Once we could get our early game jitters out of the way we could calm down and start an offense. With the first game out of the way we are looking to bounce back and compete in the second half of the tournament."
