WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Lycoming College built a 30-7 first quarter lead en route to a 99-59 win over Penn College in a non-conference women's basketball game Tuesday. The Wildcats fell to 1-4, while the Warriors improved to 4-1.
How it Happened: Lycoming led 46-21 at the break, and outscored Penn College 33-22 in the third, and 20-16 in the fourth.
Inside the Box:
Cassi Kuhns scored a team-high 16 points and pulled down nine rebounds.
Olivia Johnson added 12 and
Lydia Albert finished with 10 points. Maci Illgen grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds.
Four players reached double figures for the Warriors, led by Kayla Kline, Morgan Mader, and Alex Jones, who all finished with 14.
Outside the Box: "Lycoming is a sound basketball program that came out pushing the ball in transition and hitting key outside shots to get the go ahead," said Penn College coach
Britni Mohney. "We came out slow and did not execute the little things which caused a high turnover rate. Moving ahead we have one more game before we hit the road for conference, and we need to come together as a team to get these wins."
Up Next: Penn College returns to action Monday, 5 p.m., hosting Wilson College.
