Box Score 2 DALLAS, Pa. – Penn College traveled to Misericordia University to battle in a non-conference Tri-Meet against Marywood University and Misericordia Wednesday evening. The Wildcats fell to the Pacers in a thriller, 3-2, and then lost to the host Cougars, 3-0. The Wildcats dropped to 0-6, while the Pacers jumped to 3-6 and the Cougars 6-3.
Game #1: Penn College took the first set against Marywood, 26-24, before dropping the next two sets, 19-25 and 14-25. The Wildcats responded by winning the fourth set 25-15 before eventually falling 15-10 in the final and fourth set.

Outside the Box: The Penn College women's volleyball team jumped out to a quick start by taking the first set 26-24. Kills by

Emalie Marnati and Savannah Slough sparked the offense to take control of the game, leading 1-0 in sets. The Pacers regained control by taking two sets in a row, to go up 2-1 in the match. The Wildcats would respond in the fourth set by grabbing an 11-4 lead to begin the set with a big kill by Homan from Mackenzie Mahler. The Wildcats struggled with errors as the Pacers would go on to win the match.
Game #2: Penn College fell in straight sets to Misericordia University: 25-13, 25-17, 25-17.

Outside the Box: The Wildcats looked to use momentum from the first game to take on the Cougars in the second game. Penn College struggled with early errors as Misericordia would capitalize to take a quick first set lead. With strong words of encouragement from head coach
Bambi Hawkins, the Wildcats were on the prowl in the second set. Despite great effort, Penn College fell 25-17 in the second and third sets to end the match. Coach Hawkins commented, "Due to injuries, we aren't as deep as we would like to be. We are asking all our players to step up and they did a fantastic job doing that today as they competed hard in a thrilling five-set match immediately followed by by a three-set loss to a very good, and deep, Misericordia team." The Wildcats competed with only eight healthy players and found success as the team started to come together as they played two exciting games.
