LATHAM, N.Y. -- Penn College outside hitter
Lilly Stockum (Dauphin, Pa.) earned a selection to the United East Women's Volleyball All-Conference Third Team, the league announced on Tuesday. Stockum became the first Wildcat all-conference selection since Courtney Gernet in 2014.
The Wildcats' leading hitter, piled up 290 kills and 348.5 total points in her freshman season. Stockum ranked fifth in the United East with an average of 3.26 kills per set and 3.92 points per set. She recorded a conference-high 24 kills in a match against Penn State Berks and had 20 kills against Cedar Crest during conference matchups. Her nine aces against Rosemont was the second-best mark against conference opponents in a single match.
Stockum finished her rookie season with a .106 hitting percentage, 147 digs, 47 service aces and 18 total blocks to help the Wildcats to its best record since the 2014 season and its first postseason berth in the NCAA-era.
