KANSAS CITY, MO. – Penn College senior
Tommy DeGeyter (Long Valley, N.J.) was named to the United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-East Region Second Team, it was announced Wednesday.
DeGeyter, who was announced earlier as the first player in program history of the NCAA Era to earn an all-region selection, also is the first in program history to earn a spot on the scholar all-region squad.
Student-athletes selected to the 2024 Scholar All-Region Men's Soccer Teams must be at least a junior or above, maintain a 3.40 GPA or higher and have competed in 75% of the institution's contests during the 2024 season.
A Residential Construction Technology and Management major with a 3.46 GPA, DeGeyter finished the season by becoming just the third Wildcat to earn three or more all-conference nods in program history after the captain led the Wildcats in points (18), goals (6) and assists (6) for the second consecutive season, and went a perfect 3-for-3 in penalty kick opportunities. DeGeyter finished the season tied for 15
th in the United East in scoring and points and was sixth in assists. DeGeyter fired off 28 shots and placed half of his opportunities on frame while his help on defense paved the way for the Wildcats to post five shutouts.
