LATHAM, N.Y. -- Penn College women's basketball standout, Gigi Parlante secured her second United East weekly award as the league announced the freshman forward as the Defensive Player of the Week on Monday. Parlante was previously named the UE Offensive Player of the Week on Nov. 11.

The 5-10 forward nearly recorded a triple-double in Penn College's 62-55 win over Lancaster Bible Tuesday. Parlante netted 18 points, grabbed a game-high 15 rebounds, and dished out a game-best eight assists. Twelve of her rebounds came on the defensive end, where she also swiped three passes and blocked a shot in the Wildcats' conference opener.
