ALTOONA, Pa. — Penn College's men's golf team, led by Gunner Redmond, who tied for seventh among 105 players, tallied a 624 and finished seventh in a 20-team field in the Sinking Valley Collegiate Classic at the Sinking Valley Country Club on Sunday and Monday.
How it happened: The Wildcats scored 310 on Sunday and 314 on Monday.
Inside the box: Redmond put together rounds of 74-78—152 on the par-70, 6,911-yard course. Also for Penn College, Chase Dillman shot 74-79—153 to tie for 14th, Brady Handy shot 81-78—159 to tie for 43rd, Brett Keenan shot 81-79—160 to tie for 45th, and Logan Gawlinski shot 88-79—167 to finish 70th. Only the low four scores count toward the team total.
The field: Franklin and Marshall won the team title after shooting 299-303—602. Oliver Clark, of F and M, and Caden Perkins, of Mount St. Joseph, tied for medalist honors with 146s. Following F and M in the team standings were Bridgewater 307-302—609, Mount Aloysius 302-310—612, Pitt-Greensburg 308-305—613, Penn State Altoona "B" 306-309—615, Penn State Altoona 303-316—619, Penn College, Mount St. Joseph 320-314—634, Allegheny 316-324—640 and Pitt-Bradford 317-325—642 to round out the top 10.
