ALTOONA, Pa. — In its final tune-up before this weekend's conference championship, Penn College's men's golf team placed second in an eight-team field in the Penn State Altoona Spring Invitational on Monday at Sinking Valley Country Club.
How it happened: Led by Chase Dillman's third-place finish, three Wildcats were among the top five in a 51-player field.
On the links: Dillman scored a one-under-par 71, and he was followed by Gunner Redmond and Brett Keenan, who tied for fifth with 73s, Brady Handy, who shot an 80 to tie for 24th, and Matt Mesaris, who recorded an 88 to tie for 45th. Only the low four scores count toward the team total.
The field: PS Altoona, with medalist Peter Nusbaum shooting a 67, scored a 290 to capture the team title. Following were Penn College 297, PS Altoona B 300, Pitt-Bradford 307, Mount Aloysius B 317, Lycoming College 317, PS Altoona C 323, and Penn State Behrend 341.
