HARRISBURG, Pa. — For the fourth year in a row, the Penn College men's golf team stands alone at the top of the United East as it edged Penn State Harrisburg 612-616 when the dust settled on Saturday in the conference championship.
How it happened: The Wildcats grabbed a four-shot lead, 293-297 lead over Harrisburg after Friday's opening round at Dauphin Highlands Country Club, and the teams battled on even terms, both with 319 on Saturday, but it didn't come easy. After the front nine, Harrisburg pulled ahead in the team standings by two shots. But when the afternoon rains came in, Penn College fought back for the win.
On the links: Gunner Redmond, who was tied for seventh after a 74 on Friday, stayed consistent with a closing 75 and 149 total on the par 72, 7,121-yard course to take second place among the 37 players who finished.
Chase Dillman, who was tied for second after an opening 72, closed with an 80 and 152 total to tie for fourth.
Brady Handy opened with a 73 and finished with an 81—154 total, tied for eighth.

Brett Keenan shot 86-85—171, finishing 31
st. Only the low four scores count toward the team total.
The field: Behind Penn College and Penn State Harrisburg were Lancaster Bible College 306-317—623, Rutgers-Camden 319-309—628, Penn State Berks 314-325—639, Wilson College 322-346—668, Penn State Abington 324-344—668, and Penn State Brandywine 345-353—698.
Individually, Peyton Moyer, of Penn State Berks, medaled after shooting 74-73—147. Penn State Harrisburg's Dillon Yinger led after shooting a 69 on Friday, but faltered with an 85 on Saturday to tie for eighth with a 154.
Up next: Penn College will compete in the NCAA Division III Championship on May 12-15 at the Mission Resort and Club at Howie-in-the-Hills, Florida.
