BELLPORT, N.Y. — With four of its golfers placing among the top five individuals, the Penn College men's golf team cruised to victory in a six-team field in the Bellport Long Island Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
How it happened: Gunner Redmond was first among the 32 players who finished on the par 71, 6,325-yard Bellport Country Club course. Also for the Wildcats, Chase Dillman was second, Brady Handy was fourth, and Logan Gawlinski was fifth.
On the links: Redmond had rounds of 74-74—148, Dillman shot 78-74—152, Handy shot 77-78—155, and Gawlinski shot 79-77—156. Also for Penn College, Brett Keenan was 17th after shooting 80-88—168. Only the low four scores count toward the team total.
The field: Teamwise, Penn College recorded a 611 (308-303). Following were host St. Joseph's 627 (316-311), FDU Florham 651 (324-327), SUNY Old Westbury 662 (332-330), Mount St. Mary's (N.Y.) 671 (317-354), and SUNY Purchase 868 (422-446).
