LATHAM, N.Y. -- Penn College women's basketball freshman forward,
Gigi Parlante, completed the regular season with her fourth career United East weekly award as she earned the Offensive Player of the Week. Parlante began the season with the offensive award on Nov. 11 and picked up two Defensive Player of the Week honors on Dec. 12 and Dec. 23.
Parlante averaged 20 points and 11 rebounds on the week in two victories against Rosemont and Cedar Crest to help the Wildcats lock up the fourth seed in the United East playoffs. Against the Ravens on Tuesday, Parlante scored a game-high 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to post her 15th double-double of her freshman campaign. She also posted three blocks, two steals and two assists in the win. At Cedar Crest on Saturday, Parlante poured in a game-high 22 points and grabbed another 11 boards with five assists and a steal against the Falcons. Parlante shot 48% (14-29) and 77% (13-17) from the line on the week.Â
