MANHEIM, Pa. -- A program record four Penn College wrestlers earned National Coaches Wrestling Association (NWCA) Scholar All-America honors, the organization announced. It is the most individual scholar all-american honors since the Wildcats produced four award winners in the 2020-21 season. Senior

Carter Davis and sophomore Nick Woodruff all earned the honors.
In order to be recognized, a wrestler must have at least a 3.2 GPA and either place in the regional tournament or have at 66% or greater winning percentage in a season with at least 15 matches.
"Noah, TJ, Carter and Nick all had a great season on the mat and in the classroom," Head Coach
Dalton Rohrbaugh said. "They are always looking to improve and do the right things and it shows in their results. Those four, along with our entire team had a gret year both academically and athletically and we will continue to look to grow in both areas."
Hunt (Muncy, Pa.) became a five-time NWCA Scholar All-American, earning the award in every season since arriving on Penn College's campus. The 141-pounder capped his career with his first trip to the NCAA Division III Championships as the second-ever Wildcat to make the national tournament. An accounting major, Hunt compiled a 19-8 record during his senior campaign that included his second consecutive AMCC 141-pound individual title and a third place finish at the NCAA Region 2 Championships. Hunt became the program's first four-time region placefinisher and the first Wildcat to eclipse the 100-win mark with a school-record 103-49.
Martin (Honesdale, Pa.) earned his first Scholar All-America honor following an eighth-place finish in the Region 2 149-pound bracket. The HVAC major, went 24-11 and collected his first AMCC individual title Martin tied for fourth on the team with 11 pins, while racking up two tech falls and three major decisions. Martin placed fourth at the Ithaca Invite, fifth at the Penn College Invite, sixth in the Elizabethtown Blue Jay Classic while completing a 4-2 dual meet record.Â
Davis (York, Pa.) garnered Scholar All-America accolades after a stellar freshman campaign. The HVAC major posted a team-best 28-5 record including a 20-match win streak against Division III opponents which spanned from the third-place match at the season-opening tournament at Ithaca on Nov. 2, until the Region 2 Championship Semifinals on March 2. Davis held a perfect 8-0 in dual meets while winning the Elizabethtown Blue Jay Classic and in individual title at the AMCC Championships. Davis led the Wildcats with a team-high nine tech falls and nine major decisions while also earning four pins.Â
Woodruff (Wyalusing, Pa.) finished the season with a sixth-place finish in the Region 2 Championships at 197-pounds. The Residential Construction Management major, posted a 19-8 record in his sophomore campaign that included eight pins, five tech falls and one major decision. Woodruff claimed his first conference title by winning the AMCC 197-pound bracket and was named Most Outstanding Wrestler after winning the Penn College Invite.
"The NWCA is proud to honor these 464 outstanding individuals who demonstrate excellence on the mat and in the classroom as well," said NWCA Executive Director Mike Moyer.
