WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College sophomore Shawn Townsend (Hatboro, Pa.) was named NCAA Division III Region IV Third Team by both D3baseball.com and ABCA/Rawlings, the organizations announced this week.

Townsend earned United East first team honors after leading the Wildcats in hits (50), doubles (13) and RBIs (33) while he was second in the lineup with a .410 batting average and a .582 slugging percentage. The sophomore infielder ranked eighth in the league in batting average, 16th in slugging percentage and had the 21st highest on-base percentage in a season with seven three-hit games.
