WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — Penn College, led by Gunner Redmond's top 10 finish, placed 10th in a 16-team field during the Northeast Elite at the Williamsport Country Club on Sunday and Monday.
How it happened: The Wildcats had rounds of 307-304—611 on the par-71, 6,538-yard WCC course.
Inside the box: Redmond had rounds of 71-74—145 to lead the team and finish tied for ninth among 90 players. Also for Penn College, Brady Handy shot 73-79—152 to tie for 34th, Brett Keenan shot 80-79—159 to tie for 70th, Logan Gawlinski shot 83-84—167 to end 83rd, Joel Toburen shot 87-91—178 to end 87th, and Brandon Vaughn shot 94-93—187 to end 88th. Chase Dillman played on Monday only and shot a 72.
The field: Rochester, led by medalist Alvin Su's nine-under-par 67-66—133, captured the team crown with a 290-287—577 total. Following were Gettysburg 291-287—578, McDaniel 283-297—580, Dickinson 293-302—595, York 305-290—595, Penn State Altoona 298-298—596, Franklin and Marshall 305-294—599, Swarthmore 297-310—607, Hamilton 305-304—609, Penn College, Stevens Institute 303-312—615, St. John Fisher 307-309—616, Allegheny 311-306—617, Mount Aloysius 311-308—619, Albright 307-314—621, and Westminster 313-318—631.
