Elliot Dotson (Wilmington, Del.) and
Ryan Twist (Great Meadows, N.J.) were named the United East Conference Men's Lacrosse Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, announced on Monday. Dotson earned the Wildcat's second consecutive offensive weekly award while Twist picked up the first defensive honor of the season.
Dotson tallied 16 points in two Wildcat victories on the week. The sophomore attackman scored a hat-trick and dished out five assists in a 24-7 win over Juniata on Wednesday. Against Alfred University on Saturday, Dotson scored four goals and added four assists in a 13-10 second-half comeback victory. He also scooped up three ground balls and forced one turnover.
Twist racked up 30 saves on the week. The junior goalkeeper posted six saves in the first half against the Eagles before a season-high 24-save day in a three-point win (13-10) against the Saxons on Saturday. He faced a season-high 50 shots and posted 24 saves, including four crucial saves in the final 3:16 to preserve the lead.Â
