Penn College women romp Notre Dame in spring opener

BALTIMORE, Md. — Penn College opened its spring and United East Conference women's tennis season with a 7-0 win over Notre Dame (Md.) University on Saturday. Penn College now is 1-0 in the UE and 2-6 overall. Notre Dame is 0-1 both overall and in the conference.

How it happened: The Wildcats claimed all six singles and all three doubles matches.

On the court: Singles winners included Ellen Buckley at No. 1, 6-0, 6-1; Lauren Peck at No. 2, 6-0, 6-0; Leah Vest at No. 3, 6-0, 6-1; Faith Murray at No. 4, 6-0, 6-0; Kiera Wene at No. 5, 6-0, 6-0; and Eliza Welshans at No. 6, 6-0, 6-0. Doubles winners were Buckley-Peck at No. 1, 6-0; Vest-Wene at No. 2, 6-2; and Murray-Welshans at No. 3, 6-0.
