MALVERN, Pa. — Penn College's men's golf team finished 12th in a 16-team field in the Swarthmore Invitational at White Manor Country Club on Sunday and Monday.
How it happened: The Wildcats posted a combined 318 during Sunday's first 18 holes, then had rounds of 313 and 310 during Monday's 36-hole finish on the par-71, 6,699-yard course.
On the links: Brady Handy led the team with rounds of 77-79-75—231 and tied for 36th among the 81 players who finished all three rounds. Also for Penn College, Gunner Redmond shot 84-73-75—232 and tied for 39th, Logan Gawlinski shot 76-85-77—238 and tied for 52nd, Chase Dillman shot 81-76-83—240 and placed 59th, and Dan Sbei shot 90-85-83—258 and tied for 77th. Only the low four scores count toward the team total.
The field: Dickinson, with medalist Collin McMahon-Shea shooting 71-68-71—210 (-3), led the field with an 872 (+20) total. Following were Franklin & Marshall 884 (+32), Tufts 886 (+34), Swarthmore 892 (+40), Skidmore 903 (+51), Farmingdale State 906 (+54), Stevens Institute 908 (+56), York 915 (+63), Swarthmore 'B' 928 (+76), Albright 932 (+80), Rensselaer 940 (+88), Penn College 941 (+89), SUNY Delhi 943 (+91), Lancaster Bible College 964 (+112), Arcadia 1,001 (+149) and Penn State Brandywine 1,059 (+207).
