CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa. – Penn College dropped a 5-0 decision to Penn State Berks in the North Atlantic Conference West men's tennis team semifinals Wednesday. The Lions advanced to Thursday's finals opposite Penn State Abington.
In a first-to-five format, Berks swept all three singles and No. 5 and No. 6 singles to win match.
Jordan Rodgers and Chris Morrin were edged by Drew Weinhold and Ryan Fritz, 8-6, in No. 1 doubles. Ben Leibig and
Seth Strickland fell to Will Byler and Volan Nnanpalle, 8-1, and
Rommel Cressman and
Matt Kulp lost 8-2 to Dylan Deleoan and Jerrad Seifrit in No. 3 doubles.
Kulp dropped a 6-0, 6-3, match to Zimmerman in No. 6 singles and Cressaman fell 6-1, 6-0, to Deleon in No. 5 singles. Rodgers, Leibig, Morrin and Strickland all didn't finish their singles matches because the meet was decided.
The men's singles competition begins tomorrow.
