Penn College opened its season with a 9-0 defeat to Lycoming College in a non-conference match Monday.  The Wildcats fell to 0-1, while the Eagles improved to 1-0.
 
Matthew Elliott had the most competitive match of the day in No. 3 singles for Penn College.  After a 6-1 first set, Elliott had a hard fought second set before falling 6-3
 
Penn College returns to action Saturday, 1 p.m., hosting Arcadia.
