ABINGTON, Pa. – Penn State-Abington swept a men's and women's tennis doubleheader against Penn College in North Eastern Athletic Conference action Friday. The Lions won both matches 9-0, which dropped the men to 0-3 NEAC, 0-9 overall, while the women fell to 0-3, 0-10.
In the men's match,
Nicholas Pascual battled in No. 3 singles before falling 6-3, 6-2 and
Austin Adams was competitive in No. 6 singles before dropping a 6-2, 6-2 decision.
Andrew Francisco and
Ethan Rosler had the most challenging doubles match for PCT in an 8-3 loss in the No. 2 spot.
In the women's match,
Melissa Stabley had the most competitive singles match in the No. 1 spot. She fell 6-1 in the first set and 7-5 in the second set. Stabley later teamed with
Morgan Blackwell in an 8-2 setback in No. 1 doubles.
Penn College returns to action Saturday, 1 p.m., at Bryn Athyn.
