Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 SCRANTON, Pa. – Penn College played Marywood University in a non-conference men's and women's tennis match Saturday morning, with the Wildcat's men sweeping the Pacers, 9-0, and the women coming up short, 0-9.
 
How It Happened: For the men, Tucker Phillippe-Johansson (6-0, 6-0), Jesse Kight (6-1, 6-3) and Zack Burkhart (6-0, 6-2) all held serve in singles to win, while the other matches won by forfeit.  Tommy Cavanagh and Daniel Gianelle won in doubles, 9-7. 
 
On the women's side, Deidre Satterly had the best match before falling 4-6, 1-6.  In doubles, the team of Satterly and Taylor Shipman had the best performance before dropping 2-8.

Outside the Box: Head Coach Jessica Bower commented after the matches, "Our men's team had a big confidence boost today as they won all matches, including some hard fought battles on the doubles side." 
 
"The score doesn't reflect the well-played tennis that occurred with the women's team," Bower continued.  "We are making progress but we need to continue to play more aggressively and make our opponents run more."
