Penn College men lose at St. Mary’s

ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. — Penn College's men's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision at St. Mary's (Md.) College on Monday in a United East makeup match. The loss dropped the Wildcats to 3-4 in the conference and 4-9 overall. St. Mary's improved to 6-1 in the UE and 10-5 overall.

How it happened: St. Mary's won five of six singles matches and all three in doubles.

Inside the box: Penn College's lone winner was Matt Williams at No. 6 singles, 7-6, 4-6 (10-8 tiebreaker).

Up next: Penn College, seeded fifth, is at Penn State Berks, seeded fourth, at a time to be decided on Saturday in a United East quarterfinal. The winner advances to a semifinal match at top-seeded Penn State Harrisburg at a time to be decided on Tuesday, April 29.
