Dotson & Malarkey Sweep UEC Weekly Men's Lacrosse Awards

LATHAM, N.Y. -- Penn College's Elliot Dotson (Wilmington, Del.) and Ben Malarkey (Malvern, Pa.) swept the United East Conference Men's Lacrosse weekly awards announced by the league office on Monday. Dotson was named the Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season while Malarkey picked up his first Defensive Player of the Week nod. 

Dotson led the Wildcats' offense with a combined 14 points in two victories against SUNY Brockport and Cairn on Friday and Saturday. Against the Golden Eagles on Friday, Dotson scored two goals and dished out four assists in a 19-11 victory. On Saturday against the Highlanders, Dotson matched his season-best eight points with four goals and four assists in a 25-8 conference victory. 

Malarkey was a big part of the Wildcat defense in the two victories where he combined to cause four turnovers and scoop seven ground balls across both games. Against the Golden Eagles, Malarkey caused one turnover and scooped up three ground balls. On Saturday against the Highlanders, the senior defender posted season-highs with four ground balls and three caused turnovers on Senior Day.
