Box Score WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Pennsylvania College of Technology men's basketball team faced a strong Penn State Wilkes Barre squad falling 73-41 Saturday. The Division-leading Lions led the entire match and were strong in the paint totaling 55 rebounds to Penn College's 41. Freshman Thomas Ross (Williamsport) led the team with 10 points and 11 rebounds. The loss now drops the Wildcats to 1-13 overall and 1-5 in the Penn State University Athletic Conference.
Wilkes Barre (9-7, 6-1 PSUAC) opened the game on a 12-2 run before sophomore Nathaniel Brown (Philadelphia) hit back-to-back shots to make it 12-6 in the 14th.
Brown ended the game with seven points.
Later, down 23-11, Penn College went on a 5-0 run, three from freshman Marquis Delgado (Mansfield) to bring it to within 10 with just under six to play. The Lions ended the half on back-to-back threes to go into the break up 38-21.
For the half, the Wildcats were 9 for 30 (.300) from the field.
The Lions outscored Penn College 35-20 in the second half solidifying the victory. Cold shooting from the Wildcats prevented them from getting any momentum.
For the game, the Wildcats shot 16 for 56 (.286) from the field.
Penn College next hosts Penn State DuBois on Tuesday, Jan. 21 at 8 p.m.
