Heiser Named Scholar All-American; Wildcats Earn Team Academic Honor

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Penn College senior Walt Heiser (Milford, N.J.) was named to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) NCAA Division III Scholar All-America team, while the Wildcats earned the Team Academic Award, the association announced Tuesday.

In order to receive the Scholar All-America award, the student-athlete must be a senior academically and have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Athletically, they must be an All-America, a member of a North/South team, or an all-conference player. All nominations are evaluated on a case-by-case basis by the Scholar All-American committee.

Heiser concluded his career in competition with a United East first team selection after helping the Wildcats to a runner-up finish. In the classroom, Heiser was awarded the United East Elite 20 honor, was named to the CSC Academic All-District Team, and was awarded Penn College's Male Scholar-Athlete award.

The USILA Team Academic Award is given to any NCAA Division I, II or III men's lacrosse program who achieves a 3.0 grade point average for the 2025 Spring semester.  Penn College, which earned the honor in 2022 and 2024, finished with a 3.3 GPA.
